Stalin’s Priests is an historical fiction suspense thriller with the Vatican and the rise of Stalinist Russia as the backdrop. It’s a story of good vs evil, of fallen men and redemption, and a compelling, heartbreaking love story.

Imagine the “Da Vinci Code” with “Bourne Identity” action and suspense!

The idea comes from Pope Paul VI when in 1972 he shockingly pronounced: “Through some crack, The Smoke of Satan has entered into the Temple of God!”

It’s 1937 and Joseph Stalin, forging his communist utopia, is furious about the Catholic Church’s influence on his people. He launches a plan to destroy it from within by sending KGB agents to infiltrate the priesthood.

This first book in the series follows the life of one of Stalin’s infiltrators. Orphaned by the Nazi’s in WWII Poland, young Rolf Wozack is taken in by the Russian’s, handpicked by Stalin himself, and sent to an elite KGB training academy. There he excels, developing a keen intellect and lethal combat skills. He is sent to a Polish seminary to become an undercover priest. He is ordained, rises through the ranks and eventually lands at the Vatican awaiting orders from Moscow.

There he is befriended by a popular Cardinal from his homeland of Poland.

But Rolf knows he is an assassin in Priests clothing.
He is an atheist saying Mass and hearing confessions.
His whole life is a lie. He doubts everything.
He thinks about running.

Then, accidentally, he meets and falls in love with a beautiful American woman who does not know who he really is. He is torn by his love for her, his friendship with the Cardinal and his secret life as a fake priest, and Russian spy.

Will Stalin’s grip and his KGB training compel him to carry out his orders, or will his friendship with the Cardinal, and his newfound love provide redemption, and expose Stalin’s Priests?
